Sun Prairie, WI. – Sunday, August 30th Angell Park Speedway will host the FVP National Sprint League and the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Car Series for the Sprint Shootout.  The Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series will also be running.

While this will be the IRA Sprint Car’s fifth appearance at the famed 1/3 mile oval, the NSL will be making their inaugural appearance at “The Prairie” this Sunday.  Bringing the likes of Danny Lasoski, Terry McCarl, Tim Kaeding, and Bryan Clauson, the NSL regulars will have their hands full as the IRA defends their turf headed up by Jeremy Schultz, Mike Reinke, Scotty Thiel, and Blake Nimee.  After a thrilling Cornfest appearance on August 23rd in which Jeremy Schultz proved to be the class of the field, holding off Scotty Thiel for the win, the NSL stars will have to adapt quickly when they arrive.

Hot off his Knoxville Nationals preliminary night win, Bryan Clauson looks to carry the momentum into the NSL’s August 28th weekend.  No stranger to Angell Park, Clauson has ample seat time at “The Prairie,” a competitor in POWRi and USAC midget competition when his schedule permits.  Angell Park will be the third night of racing in a row for the NSL drivers, while the IRA will be on their second heading into Sunday night.

As of August 23rd, Ben Schmidt sits atop the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Car Series point standings over Bill Rose by 33 points.  Scott Neitzel holds third, while Jeremy Schultz rides in fourth and Scotty Thiel rounds out the top five.  Blake Nimee sits in sixth, while Phillip Mock holds seventh.  Scott Uttech holds eighth, while Kyle Marten is in ninth and Mike Reinke rounds out the top ten.

In FVP National Sprint League point standings, Danny Lasoski holds a solid 888 point advantage over Ian Madsen.  Tim Kaeding holds third, while Bill Balog sits in fourth.  Terry McCarl rounds out the top five, as Bryan Clauson sits in sixth.  Brian Brown holds seventh, while Mark Dobmeier is in eighth.  Lynton Jeffrey is in ninth and Brooke Tatnell rounds out the top ten.

In the Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series competition, David Budres took the checkers on August 23rd, extending his point lead over Buddy Luebke.  Bill Balog holds third, while Aaron Schuck sits in fourth and Mike Stroik rounds out the top five.

Fans attending the show at Angell Park Speedway will see NSL and IRA Sprint Cars, and Badger Midgets.  Front gates open at 4:30pm, Hot Laps at 6:00pm with racing following Hot Laps.  General Admission: $25.00; Students 12 to 18: $20.00; Kids Under 12: FREE
