IRA Sprint Cars Return to Angell Park for Miller Lite Cornfest

Sun Prairie, WI – On Sunday, August 23rd the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Car Series will return to Angell Park Speedway along with the Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series, and Wisconsin Legends for the famed Miller Lite Cornfest.  The Miller Lite sponsored event will take place in conjunction with the annual Sweet Corn Festival hosted by the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce.

The IRA Sprint Car’s fourth appearance at “The Prairie” will follow a double header at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin for the Kenosha County Fair: Roger Isles Tribute.  Drivers will be itching to stir the dirt after the series has sat idle since August 1st after being rained out on August 2nd and 7th.  IRA has a scheduled weekend off for the weekend of August 15th.  As of August 1st, Ben Schmidt sits atop the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Car Series point standings over Bill Rose by a mere 13 points.  Scott Neitzel holds third, while Jeremy Schultz rides in fourth and Scotty Thiel rounds out the top five.  Blake Nimee sits in sixth, while Phillip Mock holds seventh.  Scott Uttech holds eighth, while Kyle Marten is in ninth and Mike Reinke rounds out the top ten.

In the Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series, Brandon Waelti took the checkers for his first win of 2015 at Angell Park Speedway on July 19th.  David Budres currently sits atop the Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series point standings over Bill Balog by 33 points.  Aaron Schuck holds third, while Buddy Luebke sits in fourth and Mike Stroik rounds out the top five.

Fans attending the show at Angell Park Speedway will see IRA Sprint Cars, Badger Midgets, and Wisconsin Legends.  Front gates open at 4:30pm, Hot Laps at 6:00pm with racing following Hot Laps. Front Gates Open at 4:30pm.  General Admission: $20.00; Students 12 to 18: $15.00; Kids Under 12: FREE
